CM holds meet on financial crisis at NCHAC

HAFLONG, July 19 � A high-level meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi at his office chamber in Dispur on Friday to discuss the crisis faced by employees under the normal sector at the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council.

Samuel Changsan, in-charge Chief Executive Member, NCHAC, in a message, thanked the Chief Minister for his initiative to bail the Council out of its current revenue crisis. He further said that the meeting, held in the presence of Minister for Hill Areas Development Khor Sing Engti, Chief Executive Members of the two autonomous councils Debojeet Thaosen and Tuliram Ronghang and Bokajan MLA Klengdoon Engti, had a detailed discussion on the matter and resolved to meet the issue of short-term salary arrears to the employees at Dima Hasao.

Changsan said that issues related to SIU, border outpost and complete transfer of departments like Excise, Transport, Sales Tax, Printing and Stationery as per the MoU of 1996 were also discussed. Other top officials present in the meeting were Additional Chief Secretaries HS Das, Bhaskar Mushahary and SC Das, Principal Secretary MGVK Bhanu, Commissioner and Secretary GD Tripathy, the Commissioner and Secretary of the HAD and the Commissioner and Secretary of Border Areas and the Principal Secretaries of the NCHAC.
