GUWAHATI, Oct 19 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today attended the foundation day programme of Health City Hospital, a private super speciality hospital in the city.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister also felicitated three veteran doctors Dr BK Gogoi, Dr Atul Sarma and Dr Ajaya Mahanta for their selfless and dedicated service to society.
Asserting that the people of the State are now able to take advantage of good medical facilities of Health City Hospital without having to go outside Assam, Chief Minister Sonowal stated that setting up of a multi super speciality hospital like this would be able to realise the vision of making Guwahati the medical hub of entire South East Asia.
Saying that the medical profession is a noble profession, he called upon all stakeholders to strive to uphold the true spirit of the profession and urged society to show due respect to medical professionals.
