GUWAHATI, Dec 5 - A major mishap was averted at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International airport here when a SpiceJet flight overshot the runway on Friday.
Officials said there were around 150 passengers in the SG-960 Bengaluru-Guwahati flight which landed around 8.30 in the morning. It was a Boeing 737 aircraft.
No one was hurt in the incident. Pilots of the aircraft have been grounded and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has launched an investigation.
Sources said a few lights on the runway were also damaged in the incident.
