GUWAHATI, Feb 28 - Viswa Hindu Parishad Guwahati Mahanagar Samity organised cleanliness drives under the Swachh Bharat Abhijan at the Shiva Temple on the MMC Hospital complex and on the premises of the Ugratara Temple, Navagraha Temple and Basistha Ashram Devalay recently, said a delayed press release here.
The cleanliness drives were inaugurated by Doloi Mantu Sarma at Ugratara Temple, senior priest Sarat Ch Sarma at Navagraha Temple and Doloi Girindra Mohan Sarma at Basistha Ashram Devalay, said the press release issued by Santa Kumar Singha president of VHP�s Guwahati Mahanagar Samity.
The VHP unit also urged the government to provide sufficient grants in aid to these historically famous temples for their proper maintenance and tourist interests.
