KOKRAJHAR, Aug 13 - The Bharat Scouts & Guides, Kokrajhar, today conducted cleanliness drives at various places here. The cleanliness drives were organised under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan ahead of the Independence Day on August 15.
Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner MP Sharma inaugurated the cleanliness programme at the Kokrajhar Railway Station in the morning hours.
Meanwhile, 40 students from various schools of Kokrajhar today visited the Salakati industrial unit of the NTPC. The tour was organised by the Education and Industry departments, Kokrajhar, as part of the Independence Day programmes.
The Kokrajhar DC flagged off the team of students from the office of the Department of Industries & Commerce, Kokrajhar, in the presence of other senior officials. Plantation drives were also conducted by the Kokrajhar district administration at various locations.
