Clean, Green Assam

TINSUKIA, Oct 19 - As per the instruction of the State Government, the Tinsukia district administration has started observing the �Pariskar Aru Seuj Asom Sajagota Saptah� (Clean and Green Assam Awareness Week) from October 17. On the occasion, to create awareness about the mission, a rally was taken out from Katchujan field here on Saturday. The rally organised with the cooperation of the Tinsukia Municipal Board, was flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner, Puru Gupta and participated by schoolchildren and people from all walks of life. The Deputy Commissioner, in his speech, appealed to the people to keep the town clean and urged the plantation of trees for better environment.

He also appealed to the people to take a pledge that cleanliness was not for a day or a week, but it should be a life time mission for every citizen. On the first day, a tree plantation programme was also organised at the bypass of NH 37. The district administration has appealed to the people to participate in all the programmes.
