City to host Asian tennis tourney

GUWAHATI, Nov 9 - The USD 15000 prize-money Asian Tennis Tour (ATT) Men�s Event will be hosted by the All Assam Tennis Association (AATA) at its Chachal complex here from November 14.

Stating this in a release, AATA president Raktim Saikia informed that apart from the prize-money, an allowance of USD 2000 will be shared equally among all the 16 main draw players.

The main draw of this ATT will consist of 16 players, of which 10 will get direct entry based on their ranking points, four will be from the qualifying rounds and two are provided with wild cards. Of the two players that are given wild cards, one must be below 23 years of age. This is to help promote younger players.

The ten players who got direct entry to this ATT event are: Vishnu Vardhan, Suraj Prabodh, Mohit Mayur, Bhabesh Gour, Ranjit V Murugusen, Nitin Kr Sinha, Kunal Anand, Ansu Bhuyan, Sidharth Viswakarma, Parikshit Soman�.
