By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Jan 12 Contrary to yesterdays weather condition, a 20 Celsius dip in the minimum temperature made the city shiver for the second day today. Moreover, the maximum temperature remained 50C below the citys normal for the period.

According to sources in the Regional Meteorology Centre (RMC) here, the city today recorded 18.10C of maximum temperature with minimum temperature of 80C, which is the lowest minimum temperature recorded by the city during the current month. The normal maximum temperature of the city for the period is 230C.

The city yesterday recorded a maximum temperature of 16.20C and a day temperature of 12.40 Celsius till 11.30 am due to a thick fog cover. It recorded a minimum temperature of 10.40C yesterday.

RMC sources said that the north westerly wind, which is carrying the pinch of cold from the western side via north India and Gangetic West Bengal entered the NE region in two shapes of northerly and north easterly wind spreading its cool effect and this has led to the dip in the minimum temperature.
