City student to participate in R-Day parade

GUWAHATI, Jan 3 � Ankita Patowary, a third-year engineering student of the Assam Don Bosco University, has been selected among 100 meritorious students all over the country to attend the 66th Republic Day Parade from the Prime Minister�s Box at Rajpath, New Delhi.

She is the only student from Assam to get this privilege. This year, India will witness a historic Republic Day programme as Barack Obama will be the first President of the United States of America to be present as the chief guest on the occasion of the Republic Day.

The Don Bosco Society of Assam has sent meritorious students to the Prime Minister�s Box to attend the Republic Day Parade in the past also, a press release received here stated.
