GUWAHATI, Jan 6 - Karatekas of the city based SFS School, Narengi won six medals, including two gold, in the 7th International Karate Championship held at the Belgharia Bhairov Ganguly Sports Complex in Kolkata recently.

Competitors from countries including India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives participated in the championship. Players from West Bengal, Manipur, Meghalaya, Maharashtra and Assam also took part in the meet.

The medal winners are: Abhishek Pandey, Pooja Pandey (gold) , Rejaul Karim, Andrew Marak (silver), Syeda Nasiba Firdoshi and Gyandeep Deka (bronze). Gopal Mandal got the referee award in the championship.
