At these integrated counters, personnel from local police stations, Special Branch and other concerned departments will work integrally so that the entire process can been completed and documents made ready for dispatch at the earliest.

The integrated counters will be open daily from 9 am to 9 pm and we urge citizens, who have any pending verification, to avail them from July 25. Applicants should bring documents like Voter ID, Pan card, electricity bill and other necessary documents.

We are confident that by August-end we will complete all pending verifications and from September we can finish any new verification within 15-20 days, Tiwari said.

There were around 22,600 pending verifications in the city till last month and around 7,400 of them have been completed since July 2 when the mission mode approach was initiated.

The verification centres will be equipped with latest copies of Voters List and other documents, besides reports of SB and local police stations.

There are many Guwahati residents who stay in other places but have applied for verification at police stations here. We urge them to visit the integrated centres between August 20 and August 31.

The City Police is also working on a software which will facilitate applicants to know by the medium of software the real-time status of their verification application and the first trial of the system will be carried out in August.
