GUWAHATI, Aug 3 � City Police drubbed Chandmari Sports Club 4-1 in the Jibeswar Goswami Memorial A Division Football League match at the Nehru Stadium here today. For City Police, Manoj Ahmed scored in the 4th and 41st minutes. In the second half, substitute Bimal Rabha pumped in two in the 62nd and 80th minutes. For Chandmari SC, the lone goal came from Manjit Das in the 74th minute.
AOA prayer meeting for CM
GUWAHATI, Aug 3: For the speedy recovery of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi who will be operated upon at the Asian Heart Institute in Mumbai on Wednesday, the Assam Olympic Association (AOA) will organise an all religious prayer meeting at the Gobinda Baruah Sports Project Organisations office at 11 am on Wednesday. Apart from AOA secretary and Forest Minister Rockybul Hussain, sportspersons, sports department officials and sports loving people of the city will take part in the prayer meeting. AOA assistant secretary Bishnuram Nunisia will also be present on the occasion, stated a press release.
