City down Maharana

GUWAHATI, March 13 � City Cricket Club registered a five-wicket victory against host Maharana Athletic Club in the Suren Ram Phookan Memorial Maharana Centenary Cricket Tournament here today. Put into bat, Maharana managed to score 126 all out in 34.4 overs. Apart from Raju Das (47) and Pritom Das (27) other Maharana batsmen failed to click as Bhaskar Bora broke the Maharana�s backbone with a four-wicket haul. City team reached the winning target quite convincingly as they hit 130 for the loss of five wickets in 29.4 overs. Harmeet Singh remained unbeaten on 25 while Suhel Rahman contributed 24.

Earlier, in the opening match yesterday, Ankurjyoti Club defeated Gauhati Town Club by four wickets. In reply to Town�s 166 all out Ankurjyoti scored 168 for six. There will be no match tomorrow. On March 15 Navarang Club will play against AG Office.
