City CC clinch title

GUWAHATI, March 23 � City Cricket Club lifted the Servo Guwahati Challenge Trophy defeating Navarang Club by eight wickets in the final played at the Judges� Field here today. Batting first Navarang posted a challenging total of 190 in 40 overs, but riding on an unbeaten 102 by man-of-the-match Rahul Hazarika, City CC hit the winning run in 30.5 overs. Tarjinder Singh (City CC) received the man-of-the-series trophy while Roshan Basfor (Navarang), Kon Orang (Guwahati CCC) and Sekharjyoti Barman (Navarang) were adjudged as best batsman, best bowler and best fielder respectively. Narendra Dekaraja received the best wicket keeper award.

Brief scores: Navarang 190 (Ranjit Changmai 57, Biplob Saikia 37, Shuhel Rehman 3/40, Parvez Aziz 2/41). City CC 192/2 (Rahul Hazarika 102, Tarjinder Singh 45).
