GUWAHATI, May 3 - City buses will be allowed to operate in Guwahati from tomorrow, but only with 50 per cent passengers during the lockdown, stated an official release.�
From Monday, 100 city buses will resume operation in Guwahati between 6.30 am and 5 pm. The entire ticketing will have to be done through the Challo app, the release stated.
Passengers will not be allowed to travel without wearing masks. They may wear gloves while entering the vehicle. Passengers will not be allowed to travel standing.
Spitting, too, will not be allowed anywhere � be at the bus stand or inside and outside the vehicle. Violation of all these norms by passengers or staff will invite legal action, the release said.
No bus staff will be allowed to pick up wayside passengers who have not purchased digital tickets, or have not booked their tickets in advance. Bus operators will not be allowed to carry any animal or animal product.
