SILCHAR, May 30 - The Citizens Rights Preservation Committee (CRPC), Assam, has urged the newly formed BJP alliance Government in the State to materialise the changes it promised to the people.
In a release issued to the media, Nripendra Chandra Saha, president of the citizens body, Sadhan Purkayastha, secretary general, and Bidhayak Das Purkayastha, general secretary of the committee, congratulated the Government for its thumping win in the Assembly elections.
The new Government came to power propagating the slogan of Paribartan on which people relied upon and now it is their turn to prove their worth, loyalty and commitment towards the people of Assam, said Bidhayak Das Purakystha.
The leaders of CRPC, Assam, reminded the new Government that before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJPs prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and his party assured the linguistic and religious minorities of Assam that if voted power to solve their long-pending problems, including D voters, detention camps and the vexed issue of citizenship; which were raised as agenda by the State BJP in the 2016 Assembly elections as well.
The Central and State BJP leaders chanted the same promises and the people showed their faith and trust on them. Now the party is in power in both in the Centre and the State as well. It should live up to the peoples expectations.
The general secretary said that since both the Governments have their intentions clear, it is expected that by solving these sensitive issues of the various communities of Assam, especially the partition victims, the BJP-led alliance Government will create a new political history in the State at a time when these issues remained alive and unattended since Independence.
