CII Young Indians Guwahati chapter chief

GUWAHATI, April 7 � Debajit Chaliha, director, Green Gold (Assam) Pvt Ltd has taken over as the chairman of CII�s Young Indians (YI) Guwahati chapter for the year 2011-12 at the annual day organised by the Guwahati chapter on April 3, a press release stated.

Chaliha took over from Atreyee B Thekedath, who said that it has been a real privilege and fulfilling experience to lead the Guwahati chapter throughout the year with the support of a committed team.

Also present on the occasion were Dr Bhupati K Das, chairman, CII Assam State Council. In his speech he stated that the responsibility for developing India and sustaining that development lies in the hands of the younger generation. He strongly believed that YI forum will continue to serve as a platform for the young people to work effectively and engage themselves in various developmental initiatives and carry forward the mandate of growth.

Earlier in his address, Shankar Vanavarayar, chairman, YI national and executive director, Sakthi Auto Motors Limited, said that by 2050, the percentage of people above the age of 65 will be 39% in the US, 53% in Germany and 67% in Japan. And in India, by contrast will have only 19% above age 60, so demographic dividend rise to a large bubble of working age people which implies consequent increase in higher savings, higher investment and consequently a higher growth rate.

Since, Young Indians are looking at enabling change for a better India each and every one of us has to contribute and be passionate about the development of the country.

Deepika Phukan, eminent Educationist, addressed on the value system and Dr Abhijit Hazarika, CEO, Ayursundra addressed on the health care system as a booming industry in terms of revenue and employment generation.
