AIZAWL, Aug 18 - A church elder in Lunglei town in south Mizoram was arrested and sent to the district jail on charges of raping two minor girls on Friday last.
In a press release, the Mizo Hmeichhe Insuihkhawm Pawl (Mizoram�s apex women�s body) alleged that the accused, who is a �Tual Upa� (unordained church elder) in the local church, molested the twin sisters, aged six, in a car ride.
The sisters complained of pain the following day. When their father inquired, they revealed what had happened. The MHIP has demanded maximum punishment for the culprit.
