SHILLONG, July 3 � Newly-elected Congress legislator from Chokpot, Bluebell R Sangma, was sworn in by Meghalaya Speaker AT Mondal in the Assembly today.
Apart from Sangma, the other women legislators in the 60-member Assembly include Home Minister Roshan Warjri, Urban Affairs Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh, Social Welfare Minister Deborah Marak and Dikkanchi D Shira.
Later, Sangma said she would be apprising the Home Minister about the prevailing law and order situation in Garo Hills, especially her constituency. �Tackling law and order would be my top priority, apart from issues relating to women,� Sangma said.
Sangma�s late husband and legislator Mason Singh Sangma was from NCP. The bye-poll was held after the demise of sitting legislator from Garo National Council, Clifford Marak.
