Chitra Saikia cremated with full Army honours

JAGIROAD, Sept 13 - The body of Naik Chitra Saikia (32), who died in the Laribal area of Hondwara in Kupwara district of north Kashmir during an operation on September 10, was brought today to his native village at Jagi Bhakatgaon under Mayong circle of Morigaon district, 7 km from here. Last tributes were paid with full guard of honour by the Army at his residence.

Naik Chitra was the second son of late Phanidhar Saikia and late Tulemai Saikia. He leaves behind his wife, Kabita Saikia, two minors and a host of relatives. He was serving under Unit 21 RR of the Indian Army.

Several organisations and individuals paid their last tributes to Naik Chitra Saikia, who was cremated at Jagi Bhakatgaon in the presence of a large gathering.
