By Correspondent

DIMAPUR, April 7 - Congress candidate for the Lok Sabha seat in Nagaland KL Chishi has replied to the show-cause notice issued to him by Nagaland Returning Officer M Patton.

In the notice to Chishi on Wednesday, Patton said the Congress Lok Sabha candidate issued an appeal on the letterhead of former Chief Minister of Nagaland, embossed with the national emblem, which is in contravention of the Rule 10 (1) of State Emblem of India (Regulation of Use) Rules, 2007.

The notice also said, you have stated that you are a Christian, and, as per the general conduct under model code of conduct no party or candidate shall include in any activity which may aggravate existing differences or create mutual hatred or cause tension between different castes and communities, religious or linguistic.

In his reply on Thursday, Chishi said the proposed appeal letter was made in the letter head of ex-chief minister and was sent to the media cell of Nagaland PCC for necessary corrections or additions, if any, prior to the publication in the local dailies, CEOs media cell said in a release.

However, before publication the contents with the letter head were circulated in the social media, he said.

He expressed regret that such misunderstanding had occurred and apologised for the inconvenience caused.
