GUWAHATI, Sept 14 - On the basis of an inquiry report of the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-corruption, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today directed the Personnel Department to suspend the Deputy Commissioner of Chirang district, Binod Deka, with immediate effect.
Following the direction, the department suspended Deka and posted ACS officer Ratul Baruah in his place as the DC of Chirang.
Terming corruption as a major deterrent to effective implementation of government schemes, the Chief Minister stated that his government has adopted a �zero-tolerance� approach against corruption and no corrupt official will be spared at any cost. The government will continue its fight against corruption in a more vigorous way in the days to come, he asserted.
