MANGALDAI, Jan 6 � Jibon Deka and Renu Deka memorial three day district level prize-money junior badminton tournament for both boys and girls, organized by the Mangaldai Club here at the Gopinath Bordoloi Indoor Stadium ended last evening.
Bhargab Mani Kashyap emerged as champion in upper class category for boys while in the girls section Chinmoyee Medhi won the title. In the final Bhargab easily beat Madhurya Mani Deka 21-13 and 21-15. Similarly, Chinmoyee defeated Sweta Barua in two straight sets 21-9 and 21-6. In the lower class category Parvez Elahi and Nayanika Priyadarshani emerged champions in boys and girls section respectively. Vivek Raj Singh, Superintendent of Police, Darrang gave away the prizes to the winners in presence of office bearers of Mangaldai Club, members from prize donor�s family etc. In the closing function the organizers also offered felicitation to Bhargab Mani Kashyap for making the district proud by representing the State in the last National School Games.
