Chinese delegation meets Gogoi

GUWAHATI, Jan 6 - A visiting Chinese delegation called on Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi at his Khanapara residence here on Tuesday evening. The members of the delegation were very confident of the investment potential in the tourism, industry and trade and commerce sectors of the State.

According to an official press release here, the Chief Minister spoke to the delegation on various issues connected with the socio-economy of the State.

The Chinese delegation told the Chief Minister that the natural settings of the State have captivated them. The Brahmaputra has added to the exquisiteness of the State.

The Chief Minister said that there is sufficient scope for the development of tourism in Assam. There are enough attractive destinations in the State for the Chinese tourists, too, he added. The Chinese delegation also told the Chief Minister that there is tremendous investment potential in those sectors of the State.

The delegation comprised Baswan Municipality Government�s Deputy Mayor Yongjong Huwa, Commerce Bureau Director Wangde-Shwan, Director of Foreign Affairs Department Tyeng Seng-Yun, Director of Agriculture Bureau Duwan Seng-Wei and Head of the Long Yang District Government Duwan Seng Rong.
