GUWAHATI, June 25 - The SOS Childrens Village is like a heaven for me, where I got a new lease of life. Todays success was because of the motivation I received there, said Nazrul Islam who scored 66.6 per cent marks in the Arts stream in the Higher Secondary final examination with letter marks in Logic and Philosophy.

Nazrul is an inmate of the SOS Childrens Village located in the Azara area of the city and appeared in the examination from Anundoram Borooah Academy, Pathsala.

I lost my parents at a very early age and my familys financial condition was very weak. So, in 2011, my guardian sent me to the SOS Childrens Village, where everyone helped me develop mentally as well as physically, said Nazrul, whose native village is located in Darrang district.

Nazrul wants to pursue higher education in business administration. I love Economics and English and I will try my best to get a seat in the BBA course in any reputed institute, Nazrul added.

Director of the SOS Childrens Village, Subodh Das said, Were very happy with the result. He is a brilliant student and we hope hell be able to realise his dreams. At SOS Childrens Village, we live like one family; so it is a very special day for us.

This time, six inmates from the Village appeared the HS final exam; one secured the second division and four passed in the third division.

From Snehalaya, another shelter home of the city, three inmates appeared the exam and all got the second division.
