GUWAHATI, March 18 - The Children�s Film Society of India has extended its ongoing National Children�s Film Festival (NCFF) and is hosting a three-day film festival for children of Northeastern States at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra here from March 21 to 23.
Dr Shravan Kumar, CEO of Children�s Film Society India,�said,��The Northeastern States have a rich history of filmmaking and has produced many noted directors and artistes in the industry. With filmmaking so very embedded in the culture of these States, we are happy to host the three-day National Film Festival in Guwahati, with an objective to sensitise the children of the region through meaningful films and film-related workshops and facilitate ingraining of the cultural richness and precious heritage values of these States among the children though the powerful medium of films�.
The CFSI has been organising the Festival in different parts of India since long. Earlier, it was held in New Delhi, and in Jaipur in November last.
The CFSI with Smile Foundation will host the Festival in the city. This time, the festival would consist of different capacity building activities and workshops on filmmaking, script writing and sand animation for children. Value-based films like Tora�s Love (Assamese), The Prince and the Crown Stone (English), The Goal (Manipuri), Pappu ki Pugdandi (Hindi), Kaphal-Wild Berries (Hindi), Happy Mother�s Day (Hindi), Paari (Manipuri), Kima�s Lode (Mizo),Ebegetiya (Asaamese), etc, will be screened.
