By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Jan 5 The fourth National Children Theatre Festival that is being held at Rabindra Bhawan from January 3 will conclude on January 6.

The festival was inaugurated by playwright Arun Sarma on January 3. In his address, Sarma referred to the carnage perpetrated by terrorists in Assam where many, including children, were killed and many children became orphans, and said that the festival would help highlight the plight of disadvantaged children in society so that it could be addressed.

The festival has been organized by Guwahati Shishu Natya Bidyaloy in association with the National School of Drama since 2012. State Bank of India is the main sponsor of the 2015 festival.

On January 3, Backstage theatre group from Allahabad staged Tees Maar Khan as the inaugural play, while Kuhi Kuhi Pat was staged by Guwahati Shishu Natya Bidyaloy as the second play.
