JORHAT, Jan 5 - Celebrating the success of 13-year-old student Mustafa Ahmed at the recently concluded national-level competition of innovative projects at the 23rd National Children�s Science Congress at Chandigarh, teachers and students of Cinnamora Higher Secondary School here along with representatives of various local organizations felicitated the child-scientist at the school premises on Monday.
The innovative project on scientific seed storage system, designed by Class-VIII student Mustafa of the Government-run higher secondary school, was selected among 16 scientific projects of extraordinary merit from across the country during the 23rd NCSC which was held at Chandigarh from December 27 to 31 last year. As the student brought laurels to the State through his merit, the lady Principal (in-charge) of the vernacular-medium higher secondary school, Pinkumoni Tamuli said that they would leave no stone unturned to provide him proper education and necessary facilities so as to help shape his career in scientific innovation.
�His success at the national-level competition has made everyone of us proud. In fact we have been inspired to do more for the students,� said Pinkumoni Tamuli.
Tamuli appreciated the guidance of innovator Bhagaban Barua. It was under his tutelage that Mustafa prepared the project for the national-level competition. Barua was also felicitated by the school authority during the programme. Barua has been instrumental in motivating several school students of Jorhat for scientific experiments and innovation through common tools and minimum facilities.
Besides the authority of Cinnamora Higher Secondary School, representatives of Cinnamora Girls� High School, Cinnamora Traders� Association, Dakshin Jorhat Unnayan Parishad, Pub Cinnamora Unnayan Samiti, Banamali Kalakrishti Sangha, Cinnamora branch of Ujoni Asom Muslim Kalyan Parishad and Janakalyan Kendra, besides many other local organizations and citizens felicitated the duo.
As Mustafa hails from an economically backward family, it was expected that he would excel even more in the near future if proper guidance and the required facilities are provided by the concerned Government authority.
