NAGAON, June 18 - Sensation prevailed in Nagaon on Monday following the mysterious death of a seven-year-old child of No. 2 Itapara village under Nagaon Sadar police station after he was accidentally hit by a bullet of an air gun in his own house.

According to sources, the deceased has been identified as Rokibul Islam alias Mofidul Islam. Nagaon Police have already seized the air gun from the spot in this regard.

Sources said that the child was accidentally hit by a bullet mysteriously triggered from an air gun stored at his house Monday morning. In the incident, the child was severely injured and he was brought to the Nagaon BP Civil Hospital in a very critical condition where the doctor on emergency duty declared him brought dead.

Interestingly, the parents of the child, Akbar Ali and Jasmina Begum didn�t inform the local police immediately about the incident in detail. But when the child succumbed to death, it spread like wildfire in their locality. Meanwhile, Itapara police immediately rushed to the spot and seized an air gun from the spot. No one was arrested on the spot, the sources said.
