BAIHATA CHARIALI, Dec 15 - The Chief Election Officer of the State, Nitin Khare, held a review meeting with the district election officers, electoral registration officers, assistant electoral registration officers and booth-level officers at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup at Amingaon on Monday.
In the meeting, he directed the officers to scrutinise the forms applied for the registration of new voters. He also asked the election registration officers to submit reasons for acceptance or rejection of forms with data. Moreover, he urged the election registration officers and assistant election registration officers to achieve complete knowledge of election procedures so that they could train the booth-level officers. The Chief Election Officer asked the election officers to use social media to attract youth voters.
In the meeting, Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Dr Kailsh Karthik N said that his office would provide all possible cooperation to the Chief Election Officer in this regard and he thanked him for organising the meeting.
