By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Nov 25 - United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) general secretary Anup Chetia today assured the leaders of the pro-talk faction of the outfit that he would extend full support to the process of talks with the Government of India.

ULFA (pro-talk) vice chairman Pradeep Gogoi told The Assam Tribune that the central committee members of the outfit, headed by chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa, met Chetia in Central Jail, Guwahati this afternoon and had detailed talks on the ongoing peace talks. Chetia assured us that he has hundred per cent support to the process, he added.

Gogoi said that they informed Chetia about the details of the peace talks. Chetia wanted to know about the details of the memorandum submitted to the Government, which formed the basis of the talks. We informed him verbally and a copy will be handed over to him soon so that he can go through it, Gogoi said.

The ULFA vice chairman revealed that they have already informed the Centre that they would not sign any agreement without the presence of Chetia. Now the Government should facilitate Chetias release so that he can actively participate in the talks, he demanded.

Chetia is in judicial custody after his CBI remand ended and he is to be produced in the court again on December 5.
