SIVASAGAR, July 8 - The FIDE Rating Chess Tournament, organised by the Sivasagar Chess Academy got underway at the Sivasagar College premises today.
Over 200 players from the entire Northeast are taking part in the meet which was inaugurated by MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasha in the presence of Dr Prafulla Kalita, principal of Sivasagar College; Dipali Neog, principal of Bir Lachit Borphukan College; social workers Dipak Ghatowar, Somesh Deka, Siva Badra among others.
