GUWAHATI, April 29 - Senior State chess player Dimbeswar Taye passed away yesterday after a brief illness. He was 56.

Taye represented the Guwahati team in several State championships in both the open and veteran category. He had an International rating of 1526 points.

He had participated in the RGS International Rating Chess Tournament at Royal Global School, Guwahati in October 2015. All Assam Chess Association adhoc committee, Guwahati chess Association, Assam Chess Club and GTC Chess Foundation condoled the untimely demise of Taye, stated a release.
