Chess meet

GUWAHATI, July 11 � The 4th Rakthab Dutta Choudhury Memorial North East School Chess Championship, organised by Mind Sports Foundation & Assam Jatiya Vidyalay, started at the Assam Jatiya Vidyalay premises from July 9 with a total prize-money of Rs 60,000.

On day 3, after completion of five rounds, in Pawn group, Bhabishnu Pranti Bordoloi and Anurag Kalita are at the top with 5 points each, while Dhrupad Kashyap and Manthan Kashyap Dutta holds the second spot with 4.5 points each. Aarohan Saikia, Sahil Dey, Animesh Gogoi, Devabarenya Gogoi, Unmilita Pathak, Uday Bhaskar Sarmah and Subhay Agarwal are holding the third spot with 4 points each.

In Knight and Queen groups, Neelabhjyoti Borthakur is in the lead with 5 points, Amlan Mahanta holds the second spot with 4.5 points, while Deep Das, Debanjana Purkayastha, Tridev Buragohain, S Ronish Singh and Uddipta Kakati are sharing the third spot with 4 points each.
