GUWAHATI, June 8 - Assam player, Rahul Soram Singh of Cachar is tied for the first position in the Mumbai Mayors Cup International Chess Tournament (Category B).

However, based on tie break score Rahul was placed runner up and received a sum of Rs 75,000 as cash award. Rahul scored 8.5 points in 10 rounds. Altogether 333 players from different parts of the country participated in this mega tournament hosted by Mount Litera School, Bandra, Mumbai from June 1 to 6.

The All Assam Chess Association Adhoc Committee congratulated Rahul on his excellent performance.
