GUWAHATI, June 4 - The annual general meeting of the All Assam Chess Association will be held on June 19 at the Gauhati Town Club auditorium at 4 pm. A new executive committee of the State chess body will be elected in the meeting, stated a release.

Seminer on sports held

GUWAHATI, June 4: The 12th edition of the Events2Sportify Day, a Pan India sports encouragement program was conducted at the South Point School here yesterday. The day-long program was consisted of a seminer on sports encouragement where Samitabh Datta was the speaker. A volleyball competition for boys and girls was also organised on the occasion. The theme of the seminar was � Aim to play and win for India and learn about the sports sector.

The chief guest of the program was K Chanda, principal of the South Point School, the guest of honour was Govinda Kalita, national volleyball referee. The program also highlighted about the Indian Olympians and Paralympians participating in the Rio 2016 Games. The event was sponsored by Rushikesh Jalnekar and Anagha Gaurav Marathe.

In the volleyball competition Blue House (boys) and Team Saphidonhi (girls) emerged champions, a release said.
