GUWAHATI, May 19 � The ad-hoc committee of All Assam Chess Association today meet Education Minister Sarat Borkotoky and submitted a memorandum requesting introduction of chess in schools of Assam.
The minister was also appraised of the initiatives taken by the committee to promote and develop the game in the State.
Borkotoky said �That chess is an intelligent game and should be played by all. Children all over the State should learn chess to develop their intellect capabilities.� He assured full support to the committee, stated a press release.
