Chemistry award to Prof Pannalal Goswami

JALUKBARI, Oct 11 - Prof Pannalal Goswami has been awarded the ACT Dr Uma Sai Prakash Chemistry Popularisation Award for the year 2017. He received the award at the annual convention of the All India Association of Chemistry Teachers (ACT) held at Pragati Engineering College, Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh on October 6.

Dr Goswami, retired professor, Department of Chemistry, Cotton College (now Cotton University) is known for his contributions towards popularisation of chemistry through his innovative programmes on chemistry magic shows. He is regularly performing at schools, colleges and also at the Regional Science Centre, Guwahati and other institutions.

Dr Goswami is regularly publishing popular science articles in English, Assamese and Bengali in different popular science journals, magazines, newspapers etc. He is also actively associated with the publication of a nationally recognised multi-lingual research journal on Indology, namely Aitihya � The Heritage, which is an approved research journal of the University Grants Commission (UGC).
