AGARTALA, April 17 - The charred body of a minor girl was recovered from a desolate area near a tea estate under Mohanpur subdivision of Tripura today. This comes at a time when investigation into the suspected rape and murder case of a woman at Rangacherra village in the same subdivision has gone slow due to the ongoing lockdown.
Senior police officers rushed to the spot and shifted the body to the morgue at the GB Pant Hospital here this morning. A can of kerosene was recovered from near the body.
Sources said the girl, daughter of a daily wage earner, had been missing since last night. Police sources refused to give further details as the post-mortem report is still awaited.
