By Correspondent

ITANAGAR, July 27 - Days after seven Peoples Party of Arunachal (PPA) MLAs had joined National Peoples Party (NPP) a constituent of BJP-led North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA), Arunachal Assembly has publicised change of party affiliation by those lawmakers and acceptance of the same by office of Speaker TN Thongdok.

Those who quit the regional political party to merge with Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma-led NPP included Tanga Byaling, Rajesh Tacho, Tapang Taloh, Nikh Kamin, Tirong Aboh, Dikto Yekar and Mutchu Mithi.

Elected on Congress party tickets in the 2014 Assembly polls, they had later shifted loyalty to PPA following a series of political dramas in 2016.

With the latest development, the effective strength of PPA in the 60-member House has reduced to two, while ruling BJP has 48 members, NPP- 7, Congress-1 and 2 Independents.
