GUWAHATI, July 2 - The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD), Government of India, is going to include the contributions of Padma Shri awardee Chandraprabha Saikiani in India�s struggle for freedom as an open text material in Hindi for Class IX. The material will be part of the Open Text Based Assessment (OTBA) for session 2016-17.

The CBSE has informed the Assam Pradeshik Mahila Samiti in this regard, said a Samiti press release here.

The Samiti has thanked Union HRD Minister Smriti Zubin Irani and the Chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education for taking this decision in response to its memorandum submitted to the Union Minister and the CBSE.
