GUWAHATI, April 17 � Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has condoled the death of national award-winning Assamese filmmaker Bidyut Chakravarty who passed away on Wednesday.

In his condolence message, Gogoi termed Chakravarty as an actor-director par excellence, who enriched Assamese cinema with his thought-provoking and significant contributions.

The Chief Minister expressed empathy to the bereaved family members, an official press release stated.

Meanwhile, the Guwahati-based TV Producers Guild (NE) has condoled the untimely death of film director and actor Bidyut Chakravarty, who was an active member and vice-president of the Guild.

The members of the Guild prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and offered their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, a statement issued by the Guild president Munin Barua and general secretary Anshuman Sarma stated.
