MANGALDAI, June 7 � The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Darrang Zila Parishad Victor Carpenter of Assam Civil Service has been transferred and posted as the Joint Secretary in the Transport department with immediate effect.
The Department of Personnel (Personnel-A) of State government vide a notification issued on June 4 ( no. AAA.92/2010/47) and signed by Principal Secretary of the Personnel A department Rajiv Bora transferred Carpenter. However he has not been replaced by any one else. Carpenter is likely to hand over his charges to the Deputy Commissioner of Darrang within a short period.
Short story, poem contest organised
guwahati, June 7 � The 82-year-old magazine Bordoichila is organising a short story and poem competition in Assamese, a press release stated.
Intending participants have been advised to send their short stories (within 1000 words) and poems (within 20 lines) along with their photograph, telephone numbers and complete address latest by June 15 to The Editor, C/o SKB Printers, near Assam Tribune, GNB Road, Guwahati-3.
The competition has been organised in commemoration of the former Editor of the magazine Siba Prasad Baruah on his centenary year. The prizes will be given away on June 27 at the Rabindra Bhawan Auditorium here in a commemoration lecture programme.
A quiz competition for students from Class XI to the final year of PG classes will be held at the same venue. Intending participants may take part in the prize money contest at 3 pm on the same day at the venue, the release added.
