Centre to promote NE study centre at JNU

NEW DELHI, March 3 � The Government of India has decided to promote a Northeast Study Centre in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) as a part of its initiative to obtain a better understanding of the peculiar characteristics of the region through institutionalised research based on evidence and data. Union Minister of State of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Dr Jitendra Singh said this at a seminar held at JNU with focus on the region and concerns of students from Northeast, here today. JNU Vice Chancellor Prof SK Sopory and other senior faculty members were also present on the occasion. � Spl Correspondent
