JORHAT, Feb 23 Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has alleged that the Central Government was making a U-turn on the issues concerning the State as it has not fulfilled the promises made to the voters of the State before the Parliamentary election.

Before the elections, the BJP had promised many things. But it is now making a U-turn in every issue, the Chief Minister maintained.

Asked about the Governments initiative to open the Stilwell Road that connects Myanmar with Assam, the Chief Minister said that he had submitted a memorandum to the UPA Government earlier in this regard.

Gogoi added that he had reminded Prime Minister Narendra Modi of improving the road connectivity in the State to promote tourism in the State.
