By Correspondent

DIMAPUR, June 5 - Union Minister for Law and Justice DV Sadananda Gowda on Saturday said the Union Government is taking keen interest in the development of the Northeastern States by introducing new initiatives considering its feasibility for the region.

Addressing a press conference at Raj Bhavan in Kohima, the Union Minister also stressed the importance of cooperative federalism between the Centre and States which he said is important for good governance and development.

Gowda was in Nagaland to attend the celebration of completion of two years of NDA Government, in Kohima on Thursday.

On development of Nagaland, the Union Minister said, Unless the State Government cooperates no development can take place or can be carried forward. He also noted that land related problems have always been a hindrance as far as development in the State is concerned. He was also of the opinion that a full-fledged High Court is necessary for the State of Nagaland.

BJP National Vice President Vinay Sahasrabudhe, who also addressed the press persons, said the five basic approaches which the present government gives more emphasis for good governance and development are sensitisation of people so that all sections irrespective of levels are not being deprived when it comes to distribution of food, politics of performance, greater participation of people through dialogue, strengthening and maintenance of infrastructure and unblemished government which means free of corruption, scam or scandal in any form.
