Centre ignoring State: CM

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, May 29 Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today expressed displeasure over the fact that Assam was not included in the Central governments project for setting up 30 cold storage chains across the nation.

In an official statement, the Chief Minister said that it is unfortunate that neither Assam nor any other north-eastern State was included as any of the probable places for the 30 cold storage chains by the Union Ministry of Food Processing.

Gogoi said that the exclusion of States of the North-east once again proved the Centres step-motherly attitude towards the region. Given the regions immense horticultural prospects, it is all the more imperative that the North-east figures prominently in such schemes, he added.
