KOHIMA, March 21 � Union Minister of State for Drinking Water and Sanitation Ram Kripal Yadav said that the Central Government is concerned for the all-round development of the North Eastern region.
�The Prime Minister has concern for the North East and, therefore, has directed all the Union Ministers and Ministers of State to visit the region and understand the difficulties faced by the people of the region,� Yadav said here today.
The region has been neglected for long, but the present Central Government under PM Narendra Modi is working to put the region on a par with the rest of the country, he said.
Yadav arrived in Kohima this evening to attend the closing ceremony of the National Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Awareness Week, which will be held tomorrow at the NBCC Convention Centre here, as the guest of honour. � PTI
