By The Assam Tribune

ITANAGAR, Sep 17 (PTI): Arunachal Pradesh was today assured of funds by the Centre for border management and integrated development of the power sector.

"The UPA government is aware of Arunachal's problems and is working for infrastructure development of this landlocked state," Union Minister of State for Planning and Parliamentary Affairs V Narayanasamy told reporters here.

Funds would be provided to the state government for taking up four projects in border areas after consultation with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, he said.

The proposals have been submitted to the Planning Commission, he added.

The project proposals, which were submitted to the minister yesterday, included road connectivity to 22 administrative centres on the international border, drinking water facility in border blocks, foot suspension bridges and log bridges in border areas, besides a 132 KV trans-Arunachal transmissions grid.
