Central team visits flood-hit sites of Lakhimpur

NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Aug 28 - A Central team � comprising Sudhir Kumar, director (Monitoring and Appraisal Directorate) at the Central Water Commission under the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti, and Abhishek Agarwal, assistant executive engineer, Ministry of Road Transport � reached Lakhimpur district on Thursday to review the flood situation.

The team visited the Bonpuroi-Lotabari erosion site under Narayanpur revenue circle and Dolohat where the Singra river breached the PWD road under Nowboicha revenue circle.

The team held a meeting with the Lakhimpur administration at North Lakhimpur in the evening. DC Dr Jeevan B, ADC Bipul Das, Project Officer Knowledge Management and Climate Change Mandira Buragohain, SDMA District Project Officer Papori Borah attended the meeting.

The team expressed satisfaction over the measures taken by the district administration. On Friday, the team visited the Zoihing breach point under North Lakhimpur revenue circle and the erosion-affected portion of NH-15 by the Kakoi river in Kadam.
